Publication Ethics

Indonesian Journal of Agribusiness Management and Economic Sciences (IJAMES) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on internationally recognized guidelines, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical standards as outlined below.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that:

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Submitted manuscripts are original works and have not been published elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of others’ work must always be given.
  • Multiple or Concurrent Submission: Manuscripts are not under consideration by other journals simultaneously.
  • Authorship: All listed authors have made significant contributions to the research and have approved the final version of the manuscript.
  • Data Integrity: Authors must present accurate data and be prepared to provide raw data if required. Fabrication or falsification of data is strictly prohibited.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: All sources of funding and contributions must be clearly acknowledged.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Publication Decisions: Making fair and unbiased decisions based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, and relevance.
  • Confidentiality: Ensuring that submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.
  • Fair Play: Evaluating manuscripts without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs.
  • Conflict of Interest: Avoiding handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
  • Handling Misconduct: Taking appropriate action in cases of ethical misconduct, including retraction or correction when necessary.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Confidentiality: Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and not share or use the information for personal advantage.
  • Objectivity: Provide constructive, objective, and timely reviews.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
  • Conflict of Interest: Decline to review manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

4. Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher ensures that:

  • Editorial independence is maintained
  • Ethical standards are upheld throughout the publication process
  • Corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies are published when necessary

5. Ethical Oversight

IJAMES follows strict procedures in addressing:

  • Plagiarism and redundant publication
  • Data fabrication and falsification
  • Citation manipulation
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest

Any proven misconduct will result in appropriate actions, including manuscript rejection, retraction, and notification to relevant institutions.

6. Complaints and Appeals

Authors who wish to appeal editorial decisions or submit complaints regarding the review process may contact the editorial office. All cases will be handled transparently and in accordance with established ethical guidelines.
